About The Artist
Biographical Statement | The Man Shrouded in Madness
Ray Brown grew up with an artistic family. His father graduated from the Art Institute in Dallas specializing in drawing, painting, and sculpture. While his mother was more of an art hobbyist who specialized in mixed media painting. Both his parents taught the young child how to draw to express one’s self. After some walls covered in crude lipstick drawings later, Ray then figured out that things you can make in the world of drawing let alone the world of art are endless. He used drawing as an escape from the issues his family was having during his teenage years. While learning the basics Ray had entered many art competitions that he didn’t even place in. Eventually, he managed to win a medal in a VASE art competition (the medal was for placing as a regional qualifier) which really stoked the fire of passion for drawing. Once Ray went off to college he found out quickly what he was bad at, good at, and wanted to learn. In his first two years of college, he experimented with photography and a bit of digital drawing. Later Ray then committed to expanding his knowledge of digital art by changing his science major to a major in fine arts. He then went to spend the next almost three years trying to develop his digital art skills in photography, photoshop, and videography. During this three-year process, he has made a YouTube channel and has been a graphic designer for small groups. He is currently a graphic designer at a print shop.
